Shipping Policy
Last Updated: September 12, 2026
At Hiroshi Japanese Calligraphy, every artwork is carefully prepared and securely packaged in Japan before being shipped to its new owner.
1. Shipping Destinations
We ship our artworks internationally to selected countries and regions.
Available shipping destinations may vary depending on the size of the artwork, shipping carrier availability, and local import regulations.
If your country is not available at checkout, please contact us before placing your order.
2. Processing Time
Orders are generally prepared and shipped within 7 business days after payment has been successfully confirmed.
Because each artwork is carefully inspected, packaged, and prepared for international transportation, additional processing time may occasionally be required.
For made-to-order, commissioned, or specially prepared artworks, the estimated processing time will be communicated separately.
3. Shipping Costs
Shipping costs are calculated based on the destination, package size, weight, and shipping method.
The applicable shipping fee will be displayed at checkout before payment is completed.
For international orders, the shipping fee does not necessarily include customs duties, import taxes, VAT, brokerage fees, or other charges imposed by the destination country.
4. International Shipping
International orders are shipped from Japan.
Delivery times vary depending on the destination country, customs clearance, local postal services, weather, and other circumstances beyond our control.
As a general guideline, international delivery may take approximately 7–21 business days after shipment, although some destinations may require additional time.
Please note that these are estimates and are not guaranteed delivery times.
5. Customs Duties and Import Taxes
Customers are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, VAT, brokerage fees, customs clearance charges, or other fees imposed by the destination country.
These charges are determined by the customs authorities of the destination country and are outside our control.
Please check your country's import regulations before placing an international order.
If an order is refused or returned because the recipient fails to pay applicable customs duties or taxes, any resulting return shipping costs, handling fees, or other expenses may be charged to the customer.
6. Shipping Address
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address, including the recipient's name, postal code, telephone number, and any other information required for delivery.
Hiroshi Japanese Calligraphy is not responsible for delays, failed deliveries, or additional shipping costs resulting from incorrect or incomplete shipping information provided by the customer.
7. Damaged Packages
All artworks are carefully inspected and securely packaged before shipment.
If your artwork arrives damaged, please contact us within 7 days of delivery and provide:
-
Your order number
-
Photographs of the artwork
-
Photographs of the packaging and shipping label
-
A brief description of the damage
We will review the situation and work with you to determine an appropriate resolution.
Please retain the original packaging until the matter has been resolved, as it may be required for a shipping claim.
8. Lost or Delayed Shipments
Once an order has been handed over to the shipping carrier, delivery times may be affected by customs inspections, transportation delays, weather, strikes, or other circumstances beyond our control.
If your package appears to be significantly delayed or lost, please contact us so that we can assist with the appropriate shipping carrier or tracking information.
9. Delivery Attempts and Undeliverable Packages
If a package cannot be delivered because the recipient is unavailable, the address is incorrect, customs duties are unpaid, or the recipient refuses delivery, the package may be returned to Japan.
Any additional shipping, return, storage, customs, or handling costs resulting from such circumstances may be the responsibility of the customer.
10. Handmade Artwork
Each artwork is individually created by hand.
Natural variations in brushstrokes, ink density, texture, color, and surface appearance are an inherent part of handmade Japanese calligraphy and should not be considered defects.
These characteristics make every piece unique and authentic.
