Rurikarakusa, commonly known as Nemophila, is admired for its delicate blue blossoms and serene, almost dreamlike beauty. Its vivid blue petals spread across fields like a vast blue carpet, creating a breathtaking contrast with the surrounding greenery. The flower’s gentle appearance carries a sense of purity, tranquility, and openness.

I created this piece to capture the clear, refreshing beauty of Nemophila through Japanese calligraphy. Rather than simply reproducing its appearance, I sought to express the feeling of vast blue skies and open landscapes through the movement and rhythm of each brushstroke. The flowing composition reflects the delicate nature of the flower while preserving the dynamic energy unique to calligraphy.
